Hi, I’m Juliet (LS, Little Sister) and the development of OA is something I have dreamed about for years, inspired by our wonderful nan, Olive.
Having spent a lifetime in education, I’ve always believed everyone deserves the opportunity to experience life’s special moments. I’ve never believed happiness comes from money. I’ve always told my children that money is a means to an end – you live within your means, or within the means you choose – but everyone deserves the chance to celebrate life’s milestones.
There are some very special times in your life when you can, for a short while, imagine yourself in the way you want to be, seeing yourself through the eyes of someone who loves you unconditionally. I believe that this particular special moment – the wedding day – should be something the everyone can experience if they choose to.
Of all life’s celebrations, a wedding day is one of the most precious. I wanted to create a place where finding the dress felt every bit as joyful as wearing it. So, as my career developing young minds draws to a close, its time to move on to the next adventure!
How lucky am I to have the best big sister, Alison (BS, Big Sister) who was totally sold on the idea and quickly jumped, as ever, by my side to offer her love and support. Let’s not forget the other amazing women (and some token menfolk!) who threw themselves into web design, modelling, rating dresses, preparing dresses and generally being amazing.
Today, Olive’s Attic is more than a bridal boutique. It’s a family project built on kindness, care and the belief that every bride deserves to feel extraordinary. As a pre-loved bridal boutique, we also love that choosing pre-loved, sample and vintage wedding dresses can make beautiful designer bridal-wear more affordable and give brides a more sustainable wedding dress choice. I like to think Olive would have approved…

FAQs
How much do the dresses cost?
Our wedding dresses are priced by band. Attic treasures are all under £100; The Collection (which is our biggest selection) are between £100 and £400 and Heirloom is a selection of gowns above £400. Olive’s attic was established to help brides have a lovely experience -we won’t let price get in the way if you see a dress you absolutely love.
What sizes do you stock?
We currently stock 8 – 20. Dresses can by altered up or down by two sizes and most of our dresses are unaltered, so there is lots of flexibility.
What condition are the dresses in?
Every dress is individually checked before joining the rails. Many are immaculate samples whilst our pre-loved dresses are carefully selected for their excellent condition. If there are any imperfections, we will let you know before you buy.
How do your appointments work?
Our appointment-only bookings at the boutique start with some dresses we have selected from the information in your questionnaire and we can begin to see what you like. You can try on as many dresses as you like within your ninety minute time slot, and bring along your family and friends for support.
